After years of writing and editing, I am happy to announce that my book is finally going to be published on February 3. The book launch event is going to be held at Helinä Rautavaara Ethnographic Museum (Helinä Rautavaaran museo).

Brief info about the book:
It’s a book of hope and triumph over difficulties, a coming-of-age story, an Odyssey-like recounting of all the ups and downs that I faced – and that were and are still being faced by thousands and thousands even today as they flee from war and violence in search of peace and dignity.
My hope for it is that it not only chronicles my journey from Afghanistan to Finland, but that it speaks for all of the others who made the same trip, but without the privilege to let the world know about their experiences.
I’m hoping that it joins other books, films, and art to create a full picture of our experiences. It will be a success if it helps create just a little more understanding in the world and a little more recognition of our common humanity.
